A Path to Self-Discovery and Acceptance

Workshop
Intention:
Laura offers a series of workshops based on musical abilities. The intention
is to inspire and motivate participants to create songs as a path to self-discovery,
to allow for self-expression in a safe, supportive environment, to have
fun and enjoy the process, to learn self-acceptance on the journey. Activities
help access our inner voice, communicate authentic feelings, heal sadness,
preserve joy and free our writing.
Who
Can Benefit: Therapists, Social workers, Musicians, Music Therapists,
School teachers, people with criminal justice backgrounds, Ministers,
Camp counselors, students, Any person who would like to explore their
inner voice and enhance their creativity.
Materials:
Journal notebook, writing paper, pencil, pen, musical instrument and
sample of past work. Suggested reading: "Writing Down the Bones"
by N. Goldberg.
Fee:
Negotiable
Hours/Days:
minimum: 8 hrs; maximum: 15 hours
(Friday pm - 12 noon Sunday).

Materials/items
needed: piano preferred, CD/tape player, sound system (if doing
concert of my material as well as workshop participants).
